DVD Duplication Is Cost EffectiveOne of the problems we will always face when it comes to our home entertainment is this: how do we keep our collections safe? This question is especially important when it comes to our DVD’s. As useful as they are for storing large amounts of information, DVD’s are notoriously susceptible to scratching. Once a DVD is scratched enough it will no longer play, so how can we help protect our DVD collections? Well, for this purpose DVD duplication is cost effective. You can pick up a packet of blank DVD’s from any electronics store, many general stores, and literally thousands of sites on the Internet. These days most home computers come equipped with DVD recorders, so you should have no problem being able to use the DVD’s. Once you have your packet of DVD’s you can set about making copies of your collection. The purpose of this, of course, is so that if part of your collection is damaged or destroyed you will be able to simply use the backup copy. While not an ideal solution, DVD duplication is vastly more cost effective than going out and replacing your entire collection with originals. After all, a blank DVD costs only a dollar or so, while an original movie DVD can cost tens of dollars. You should always make sure that you keep your receipts for you DVD collection. It is only legal to own copies of DVD’s when you actually own the originals. Keeping the receipts in a safe place will protect you against copyright law. While it is unlikely that there would ever be a problem with you owning copies, it would be prudent to protect yourself legally. After all, while DVD duplication is cost effective, breaching copyright law isn’t.
